ESG Committee
The ESG committee provides strategic oversight to the Investment Managers (IMs) for making informed investment decisions by assessing ESG factors. Comprised of Senior Management and a dedicated ESG Executive, the Committee is entrusted with the development and refinement of overarching ESG strategies, policies, and frameworks that align with the Group’s investment objectives and industry best practices.
The committee provides oversight and guidance on ESG due diligence processes throughout the investment lifecycle, ensuring comprehensive assessment of environmental, social, and governance factors for potential investments. Moreover, it facilitates engagement with portfolio companies to enhance ESG performance, monitors progress against established ESG objectives and benchmarks and identifies areas for improvement.
Investment, ESG Integration and Value Creation
ChrysCapital’s commitment to responsible investment practices is intertwined into every step of its journey. The process begins with initial screening by applying negative screening principles to gently set aside opportunities with sectors covered under the exclusion list. Post that, for pre-investment evaluation, careful discernment is based on third party ESG & Impact due diligence and reviews with detailed Corrective Action Plan (CAP).
Post-investment, the fund leverages its deep relationships with management, CEOs, and Boards of investee companies, promoting effective ESG risk management. ChrysCapital helps strengthen the Governance and risk profile by enabling development of robust policies and internal management systems.
Once the risk profile is strengthened, the fund supports portfolio companies to E&S maturity and help redefine strategy for value creation. The in-depth understanding of business, sector insights and risk profiles helps the fund to unlock opportunities for value creation for stakeholders.
